LA PROSECCO UNBOUND – MARCA BIANCA
THE SOLSTICE ROUTE: 350 KM OF PROSECCO, SWEAT, AND MYSTICAL REVELATIONS
A journey to the edge of reality… and physical endurance
Imagine waking up at dawn, the solstice sun rising over Conegliano, whispering softly:
“What on earth made you sign up for this?”
Welcome to LA PROSECCO UNBOUND, where gravel meets destiny, and your relationship with fatigue will be tested just as much as your ability to resist an early wine tasting. 350 km of pure unsupported adventure, through postcard-perfect vineyards, UNESCO-listed hills, and that intoxicating scent that will make you pedal faster.
And we’re off! (Or at least, we try…)
From Conegliano, the land of Prosecco and ambitious cycling plans, you launch yourself into legend. Here, Cima da Conegliano once painted landscapes; you, however, will paint a trail of sweat and gravel with your bike. Spoiler: by the second day, you’ll be part of the landscape, too.
Montello: the beautiful nightmare
An ancient glacial moraine turned into a playground for thrill-seeking cyclists. Climbs, descents, and the constant suspicion that someone has drained your energy reserves. Here, history is in the air—especially when you reach the top, gasping for breath.
Asolo: a classy pit stop
Along the cobbled streets of this enchanting village, you’ll ride where queens, artists, and poets once found inspiration. You, on the other hand, will find a fountain and wonder if it’s legal to dive in.
Pedemontana del Grappa: “When does this end?”
A land of ancient traditions, breathtaking landscapes, and the occasional existential crisis. Your GPS says you’ve done 150 km; your body insists it’s double that.
Valdobbiadene: the sacred temple of Prosecco
You’re in the beating heart of Prosecco DOCG, where every vineyard is a masterpiece and every glass a sensory experience. A word of caution: Prosecco and gravel cycling are a delightful mix, but watch your line after a tasting…
Molinetto della Croda: a fairytale setting (or the site of your epic breakdown)
A place of peace and contemplation… except for you, desperately trying to convince your legs not to quit. The mill has been turning since 1630—you’ve been turning for 200 km. Who will stop first?
Cison di Valmarino & the Revine Lakes: paradise or mirage?
A picture-perfect village and crystal-clear lakes… or maybe you’ve just started hallucinating from exhaustion.
Vittorio Veneto & Sant’Augusta: “Never a break”
The climb to the sanctuary is a leg destroyer and a soul soother. The view from the top is breathtaking, but getting there will take everything you’ve got. Take comfort in knowing this is also the land of Ottavio Bottecchia, the first Italian to win the Tour de France. If he did it, maybe you can too.
The Perdonanze: divine mercy (for your legs?)
Riding through ancient rituals and traditions, you start thinking that a blessing wouldn’t hurt. Seeking indulgence for your legs is totally acceptable.
The epic return to Conegliano
You survived. You’re a hero. Or at least someone who can’t say no to impossible challenges. The finish line is more than just a destination—it’s the symbol of your endurance. You’ll toast with Prosecco, look at your bike with a mix of love and resentment, and swear never to do this again. (Until next year.)
